Les Powers lived a life defined by authenticity, creativity, and an adventurous spirit that carried him through every chapter of his 75 remarkable years. Known for his honesty, humor, compassion, and unwavering loyalty, Les touched every life he entered with warmth and a rare depth of character.
Born with an artist's eye and a craftsman's hands, Les pursued his passion for design at the University of Colorado, where he formally studied Art and Design. His career began in furniture design and construction, where he demonstrated an intuitive understanding of form and function.
Over time, he discovered his true artistic calling in sculpture. Working with wood, stone and other media, he created pieces that blended emotion, texture, and movement—art that reflected both his inner world and his appreciation for the beauty found in everyday life. His sculptures earned numerous awards at art shows in Colorado and Arizona, and his work remains displayed in multiple galleries across Arizona. Each piece stands as a testament to his curiosity, boldness, and the soulful precision that defined his craft.
Les' legacy lives on in his artwork, his stories, his family, and in every heart he touched. His life was a vibrant reflection of what it means to be genuine, courageous, and endlessly curious. He was, in every sense, one of the good ones—one of a kind.
